This year’s theme is “Activating Kindness”

Is kindness vital in unkind times?  What is the value of kindness?  How do neurologists and psychologists understand kindness?  What motivates people to acts of kindness?  Where does kindness interact with creativity and healthcare?

Is kindness our secret weapon?

A week of curiosity to stimulate Creative Brains

After nine Creative Brain Weeks, including three in Dublin and six internationally, we took a brief pause to digest what we are learning.  Now we’re back.

This, the 4th Creative Brain Week in Dublin, has moved to June. We continue to programme with three principles in mind:

  • No Tell Without A Show, No Show Without A Tell
  • Nothing About Us Without Us
  • Each One Teach One

This year, our programme has changed format a little:

  • Speakers’ Programme:
    • Monday 9th – Community building session reflecting on activity over the last year, The Pratchett Prize and an exhibition launch
    • Tuesday 10th – a day filled with presentations and discussion
    • The speakers programme will be online and in person. Tickets are FREE but limited, so to secure your attendance, please register to attend. See programme details to book.
  • Threads Programme
    • Wednesday 11th-Friday 13th – “Threads” cluster groups exploring topics through cross disciplinary and inter agency dialogues, across Trinity.
    • How the Thread sessions work depends upon their focus. Some are small invite only groups, others open to all. For some it is a short presentation as provocation, a discussion, and an opportunity to reflect. Others are physical. One is based around making a mandala, another a Timeline. There will be a short presentation back on Friday 13th to a wider audience in the Naughton Institute.
  • Creative Programme, Associate Programme and Exhibition
    • SoloSIRENs How Do We Care? Symposium – Monday 10.30am to 3.30pm
    • Film Programme – on Wednesday and Thursday we will be showing films which address Alzheimers and Dementia which are programmed by Michelle Memran. Films are free to attend, but due to limited availability, please book your attendance in advance.
    • Exhibition – From Monday to Friday our creative programme is free open and free to attend. No booking required.

The programme reflects our commitment to creativity, community, interdisciplinarity, equity and the transformative power of collaboration, as well as our active response to transition and turmoil.  We look forward to welcoming you and your contributions to our gathering, celebration and exploration.
